Pallavi has taken lessons in Hindustani Music from Mrs. Vasanthi Athawale, Rockville, MD. She has given several Hindi bhajan concerts in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
Apart from Indian music, she has also had training in western music. Pallavi has a great zeal and enthusiasm to continue learning music and to excel. |
CarnaticPallavi has attended workshops conducted by great carnatic musicians such as: the late Vidwan R.K. Srikantan of Bengaluru, the late Vidwan Rajam Iyer of Chennai, Vidwan Karraikal Jaishankar of Chennai, and Vidwan Ashok Ramani (grandson of Papnasam Sivan) of Chennai.
Pallavi has attended advanced training in carnatic music under Smt. Nirmala Ramaswamy of Bethesda, Maryland, and currently continuing her training as well as workshops with Vidwan R. Suryaprakash of Chennai. |
HindustaniPallavi is also continuing her training in advanced Hindustani classical vocal under Gopi Katwala, who is a direct disciple of Pundit Jasraj of the Mehwathi Gharana school in Germantown, MD. In August 2015, Pallavi gave her first full fledged pure Hindustani classical vocal performance at JSS Mission in Gaithersburg, MD

WesternPallavi has participated in choirs through elementary school, junior high school, high school and college. During her high school years, Pallavi was a member of the Montgomery County Junior and Senior Honors Chorus for four consecutive years and also “Masterworks Chorus” a professional and very well-known chorus in the Washington DC area. During her senior year of high school, she was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, which is one of the top twenty music schools in the country. Pallavi continues her training at a local music studio in the Washington DC metro area.
