Pallavisree Vasanth Tambraparni (Pallavi) was born in Mysore, India, but grew up in the United States. As a child, she showed a great love towards music and amazingly fast learning skills.
She learnt most of the Sanskrit hymns and Kannada devotional songs from her mother late Smt. Usha Vasanth. As Pallavi grew, she won the hearts of several music lovers by rendering melodiously devotional songs such as "Yemanelli kanalendu,” “Dasana Madiko Yenna” and “Kunidado Krishna.” Pallavi made her first debut when she was 12 years old and gave a classical music concert accompanied by Sri. Express India recognized the artist by publishing an excellent review written by a noted dancer, Mrs. Mrinalini Sadananda. From the age of 7-12 years, she received early training in Carnatic music from Dr. Hema Murali at the India School in Bethesda, Maryland. From age 13-25, Pallavi continued advanced training in Carnatic vocal under Smt. Usha Char, of Nadopasana music school, Olney, Maryland. Pallavi has a great zeal and enthusiasm to continue learning music and to excel. |
Pallavi has won several awards in the music competitions conducted by the Association of Indians in America, Washington DC, the Music Department, University of Maryland Baltimore Campus, Baltimore and other organizations. Pallavi has given many carnatic vocal performances in the United States at Siva Vishnu and Murugan Temples , Washington DC, Ganesh Temple, Flushing, New York, Venkateshwara Temple, Pittsburgh, PA, Hindu temple, Berlin, NJ, Venkateshwara Lotus Temple, VA. In India, she has performed at Mysore, Bangalore, Coimbatore. She has rendered light music in the Kannada Associations across United States in Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA, New York, New Jersey, Boston, MA, Cleveland, OH, and St. Louis, MO.
